FAQs

Blockchain

Cryptocurrency is digital currency issued without the need for a central bank. It is created in a decentralized ledger called a blockchain. It uses complex cryptographic functions to secure transactions.

A blockchain is a ledger of transactions grouped by blocks. The blocks are linked together through cryptographic keys thus forming a chain.

Gas price is the amount of Ether you accept to pay for each unit of gas. Gas price is often mesure in Gwei.

Gas limit refers to the maximum amount of gas you are willing to consume on a transaction. Smart contract usually consume more computational work than a simple ETH transfer. When you set the gas limit, anything that is not consumed is returned to you. On the other hand, if you set a limit that is too low that does not allow the execution of the transaction, it is canceled but the gas that was consumed will not be returned to you.

You set gas price and gas limit. Note that miners will preferably execute transactions offering a higher gas price, as they earn the fees that you pay. Miners will be less inclined to execute transactions with lower gas fees set.

In decentralized systems like Ethereum, miners are responsible for processing transactions, validating them, and creating the blocks of the blockchain in a chronological order that secures the network. They are paid to do this work with gas and fees.

MetaMask is a wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. It allows access to their Ethereum wallet through a browser extension or mobile app, which can then be used to interact with decentralized applications like Eterneum.io.

NFTs are tokens that we can use to represent ownership of unique items. They let us tokenise things like art, collectibles, even real estate. They can only have one official owner at a time and they're secured by the Ethereum blockchain – no one can modify the record of ownership or copy/paste a new NFT into existence. Eterneum.io is based on NFTs.

Eterneum.io

Eterneum.io is the interplanetary ledger of humanity. For the very first time in the human history, Eterneum.io allows you to keep in a unique and immutable register, the trace of your existence or of those you love. Basically, Eterneum.io is a smart contract implemented in the blockchain Ethereum.

The ouroboros or uroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. Originating in ancient Egyptian iconography, the ouroboros entered Western tradition via Greek magical tradition and was adopted as a symbol in Gnosticism and Hermeticism and most notably in alchemy. The ouroboros is often interpreted as a symbol for eternal cyclic renewal or a cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

You can create as many tokens as you want as long as you comply with the terms and conditions of use of the site Eterneum.io.

The smart contract governing Eterneum.io does not allow the alteration and modification of data, nor the tokens transfer to a third party.

No, it is not possible.

The tokens created by Eterneum.io are stored in the Ethereum blockchain and the information associated is saved in a unique IPFS address. The IPFS storage as well, as the Etherneum blockchain ledger, guarantees its sustainability even if Eterneum.io disappears in the future.

It might occurs if you stop or close your browser before the end of the process. We check the recorded transactions every day. if your token is correctly registered in the Ethereum blockchain, we will show your data in the Eterneum.io ledger page.

After installing MetaMask extension, please reload the browser page then click on the Connect button. Please also check if your MetaMask account is not locked.

You have to enter the full pluscode located in the pluscode url, not the short one with a city name.

We use vectorial SVG format to design the dragons. You can use any browser plugin like Chrome SVG Export to export and save the image as PNG or JPG. Go to the ledger page, locate your dragon and export it.
